Florida Housing’s Office of Inspector General Seeking Accreditation

TALLAHASSEE - On December 15, 2016, Florida Housing Finance Corporation (Florida Housing), Office of Inspector General (OIG) will undergo a Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (Commission) assessment to evaluate the OIG’s compliance with specific requirements and standards as set forth by the Commission, Florida Statutes, and the Principles and Standards for Offices of Inspector General.

In order to receive accredited status, the OIG must comply with 46 standards related to policies, procedures, management, operations and support services. The accreditation will be for a three-year period.

As part of the on-site assessment, Corporation staff and the public are invited to offer comments to the assessment team. A copy of the standards is available through the Commission’s website at www.flaccreditation.org. The Commission’s Assessment Team consists of Team Leader Scott Grant, Director of Investigations, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Office of Inspector General, and Julie Leftheris, Inspector General, Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Office of Inspector General. Once the assessment is completed, they will report back to the full Commission, which will decide if the Corporation is to receive accredited status.
